Buying Entrance Tickets to Machu Picchu (Machu Picchu Part 1)

To buy your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu go to the official site - https://www.joinnus.com/events/trip-adventure/cusco-llaqta-inca-de-machupicchu-59693

You can then choose the route, and see tickets available for the days you are interested in - in the photo the choices for the most classic Machu Picchu tour option.

Then choose the time you want to go into the site, make sure to choose a time that still has space, "Agotado" means no more tickets for that time.

After choosing the entrance hour you can choose the amount of people going and the ticket options, children are considered up to 17 years old, and students require an official card.

You can see the prices in the image as of February 2024 the general entrance is 152 soles, about 40 US Dollars.

Then you will need to fill up your details and pay with a credit card for the entrance.

Important -

• If arriving by train on the same day - make sure your ticket is late enough to be able to get from the train station to the site - about an hour on foot or 30min by bus

• To get a student price you will need to buy the ticket at the official offices in Cusco and not online (at least as of February 2024)

• Bring bug spray, Machu Picchu is in a high jungle and there are mosquitos and sand flies.

• Bring sunscreen, Machu Picchu is at over 2400 meters (7800 feet) and open area it is really easy to get sunburnt
