Carnival in Cusco

This Sunday 11th of February 2024 Cusco will celebrate carnival.

From morning time in the main plaza, there will be parades and music.

The tradition during carnival is to throw water balloons use foam spray and even throw paint at people.

As tourists, we are a target for the locals, especially for female tourists.

This also brings the potential for pickpocketing, so be careful with your stuff

So wear a plastic poncho, arm yourself with a foam can, leave your valuables at home and go have fun :)
